Text Box: It’s Friday night, time to put that spectacular outfit together.  You search three closets full of clothes (various sizes, some with the sales tag still on), yet you can’t find anything to wear.  You look frantically for your ‘go to’ outfit and just when you’re ready to slam the closet door on your night out, you see old faithful,  slipped from it’s hanger, lying on the floor with a couple other items.  If only you had more closet space.

Give your closet a break.  Get rid of clothes that are no longer your style.  In order to put in something new, you need to make room.  Pull out everything that no longer fits and cannot (or will not) be altered.  Next remove the oldest items in your closet.  You’ll find clothes that haven’t been worn in over a year or more.  Get rid of them.  If it seems hard to get let go of clothes that no longer fit try this:  Pick out your best pieces and give them to friends and family who appreciate your style, or take them to a consignment shop and make a little extra cash. Donate the other items to a church, Goodwill or Salvation Army and enjoy the tax credit. Throw away worn, torn or damaged pieces. Remove empty hangers and discard bent and broken hangers.

Now the icing on the cake is to arrange your clothes by color.  It’s the easiest way to pull off a coordinated look with ease.  Cleaning your closet is a good time to have a sister or close friend on hand for support.  Everything is easier with a friend.

Give your closet a break.  Allow space for new styles and ideas to flow freely.  Easily see what’s available and say goodbye to wrinkled and bunched up clothes.  Let go once and enjoy the ease at which you put together your new style.  Get rid of skeletons too.  Old lovers, past friends, all the things you ever think about that make your stomach feel funny, cause you to feel anxious or shame.  Let go often and gain all the closet space you need.

Need More Closet Space?

“Beauty is in eyes of the beholder”.   Remember that saying?
I was at a recent event where a beautiful women protested a bit much against having her photo taken.   “I don’t take good pictures”, she explained.  I thought, “This lady is beautiful.  Smooth skin,  stylish hairdo”.   So I suggested posing in a way that flatters, (I had just seen this on a morning TV show).  That didn’t help with the picture taking.  I ended up with a shot of her arm in front of her face.  Sometimes  we can be our own worse critic.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we all love what we see when we look into the mirror.  Let’s practice loving ourselves from head to toe.  The next time and every time you look into the mirror, say “HEY BEAUTIFUL, LIVE LONG, LOVE WELL.
When you love yourself, it shows!
